Tips for Selling Homes with Pets
What do you do with your pet when you're selling your home? Here are a few tips (shamelessly featuring Jax...did you expect anything less?) on how to sell your house successfully without stressing out your pet – or you.
Deep clean your home: Before putting your home on the market, it's important to give it a thorough cleaning. This includes removing any pet hair, odors, and stains. Better yet, consider hiring a professional cleaning service to ensure your home is in top condition.
Make arrangements for your pet: During showings and open houses, it's best to have your pet out of the house. Take your pet with you or have them stay with a friend or family member. This will make it easier for buyers to view your home without distractions (while avoiding unnecessarily stressing out your pet).
Repair any damage: Before putting your home on the market, repair any damage caused by your pet (scratched floors, torn carpet, marks on walls, etc). This will help your home look its best and can increase its value.
Hide your pet’s stuff: Make sure to hide your pet's toys, bed, food + water bowls, and litter boxes during showings and open houses.
Selling a home when you have a pet doesn’t have to be a pain. I’d be happy to brainstorm ways to sell your house at top dollar without stressing out your pet (or you)!
