New Marin Restaurants
While COVID spurred on the closures of many establishments throughout the Bay Area, we’re finally seeing a resurgence of new restaurants coming to Marin. From noodles to burgers to Greek to Californian and every cuisine in between (I’m a poet!), here’s a roundup of some of the latest restaurants to call Marin home:
Souvla (Marin Country Mart, Larkspur): San Francisco’s favorite modern fast-fine Greek restaurant is inspired by casual souvlaki joints found throughout Greece. Coming early 2023.
Moonset (Marin Country Mart, Larkspur): Charles Phan from Slanted Door will be opening a modern noodle shop inspired by the delicious street foods of Vietnam. Coming early 2023.
Roam (Town Center, Corte Madera): Another San Francisco favorite (fun fact: the owner is a Redwood High School alum!), Roam is known for their grass-fed beef patties and french fries topped with shaved truffles. They’ll be taking over (and renovating) the current Maison de la Reine spot. Coming Fall 2023.
Name TBD (Point San Pablo Harbor, Richmond): Replacing Black Star Pirate BBQ, a new restaurant by Chez Panisse alum Arnon Oren will take advantage of this seaside location, with a menu featuring seafood dishes, woodfired pizza, and vegetables directly from Point San Pablo's garden — along with live music every weekend. Coming February 2023.
Woods Beer & Wine Co. (downtown San Anselmo): San Francisco craft brewer and natural winemaker is coming to downtown San Anselmo for its sixth location. Unlike at their city taprooms, more food – including full meals – will be featured at this location. Coming late 2023.
Coho (downtown Mill Valley): In the former Vasco space is now Coho, a sustainable, seasonal, seafood-focused concept from Piazza D’Angelo owners Felicia Ferguson and Luigi Petrone. Opened January 2023.
Mamahuhu (downtown Mill Valley): Michelin-starred chef Brandon Jew brought his fast-casual Chinese-American restaurant to the former Mill Valley Beerworks space in late 2022, serving steam-table staples like sweet-and-sour chicken and beef and broccoli.
Local Kitchens (Alto Center, Mill Valley): The digital food hall founded by former DoorDash employees opened a Mill Valley location in September 2022, offering a diverse selection of options from 10 Bay Area eateries under one roof.
